Chakrata is one of the hidden gems of Uttarakhand, This place is meant for those who are nature lovers and love peace. This place is unexplored and untouched full with natural beauty This place is 350km from Delhi.
We have started our journey from Delhi in October. I am fond of driving so I took my own car with 3 of my friends. We depart at 10:00pm from Delhi. Took a tea break at Sukhdev dhabha at 12:00am. Parathas are very famous over there. At 12:30 am we departed towards Chakrata.
We reached to Ponta Sahib at 5:00am. Roads conditions are very good. We took rest for 1 hrs in Gurudwara. You will easily get rest room in Gurduwara on requesting. At 6:30am we proceed further towards Chakrata.
From Ponta Sahib mountains gets started and Chakrata is 80km from here. Road conditions between Ponta Sahib and Chakrata is OK. You will get some patches in between but it's manageable. Roads are narrow in this route. Never go Chakrata in Monsoon because Land-sliding happens very frequently in Monsoon.
We Reached Chakrata at 9:00am, Remember Hotels are very limited in Chakrata. I would suggest you to book hotel in advance. After 1 hr of search we found a hotel. Name of hotel is Hotel Sun Mount. This Hotel is situated 10km from main market of Chakrata. The Location of this hotel is OSM. This hotel lies in between the vally. You will not found anything nearby this hotel. If you are looking for peace and nature lover, this is the perfect location.

In Chakrata there are 3 main attractions to visit:
1. Tiger Falls
2. Deoban
3. Chimiri Neck
Tiger Falls: We have been to Tiger Falls by own own car. You can hire taxi as well. The route of Tiger falls is full of adventure. There are no roads, full of mud. I love adventure so I loved to go by my own car. Depends on person to person. Tiger Falls is OSM place to visit. You must visit that place and have bath over there. This place is 100 times better then Kampti falls in Mussorie. Below is the pic of Tiger Falls

Deoban and Chimiri Neck: I can only say that hire taxi for these places because only SUV can go here. Roads are very narrow and very bad condition. Driving by own care here is a big risk.
Famous items: Rajma of Chakrata is very famous. Its's is 220 Rs. per kg. Must buy from Chakrata market.
Summary: This hidden gem of Uttarakhand is worth to visit.
